In Washington, reform of the Renewable Fuel Standard could be on its way following confirmation of a meeting between President Trump and oil industry leaders regarding biofuel policy. The meeting was a result of Texas Senator Ted Cruz blocking the approval of a high level USDA appointment in the Senate until the meeting was agreed. Cruz and eight other oil state senators asked for the meeting back in October with corn state senators and biofuel industry representatives in attendance but it’s not yet clear if the others will attend.
